No outfit is complete without the perfect handbag – but style doesn’t have to mean that you have to go without your necessities in the name of fashion. There are many items that a girl simply must have in her bag, and with modern technology and simple conveniences, those necessities can easily fit into any sized bag.
Purse
The first thing you need to think of is your purse. Generally, purses are quite bulky – but do they have to be? There is practically no please that doesn’t take card now, and with Apple and Android pay, you dont even need those with you. Why not swap your purse for a card wallet, and have a little pouch for coins if you need them for things like parking?
Glasses
If you need reading glasses, then you know how annoying to can be to pack your bag and then try and figure out how to fit your glasses case in there too. So have a look at reading glasses that fit into a card slot.
Portable charger
Who doesn’t find themselves in the middle of work or town without a charger and with that horrid 1% striking panic into your heart? Portable chargers are so easy to come by, and you can even get ones that will fit into a card slot, taking up even less space.
DIY first aid
You might not need a full first aid kit to tote around with you, but it’s so simple to make a DIY kit to keep in your bag. Take a thin makeup bag and pop in some paracetamol, ibuprofen, Rene and plasters. If you need additional medication then pop that in too. You can add sanitary wear to the bag if you wish, or have a separate bag to add just for that week.
Umbrella
Let’s face it – no matter the season in Britain, it’s going to rain at some point. It’s only smart to have a collapsible umbrella in your bag.
Reusable bag
With plastic bags costing 5 pence, it has become the habit for most people to carry around reusable bags. Minimise the space taken with bags you can tuck away into little pouches. Even if the 5p charge wasn’t a thing, using a reusable bag rather than a plastic one is just common sense and so much better for the environment.
Makeup
Carrying makeup around is the norm for most ladies, but it can take up a lot of space. Look at buying makeup minis that match your normal purchases and pop them into another small bag. A compact mirror doesn’t have to be bulky either, just shop smart and look for a single circular mirror rather than a hinged compact.
Shoes
If you spend your days in heels, you will know the comfort of taking them off as soon as you get home. So why not make that happen sooner and pack a pair of roll-up slip-on shoes?
