In today’s trends, fashion and fitness go hand in hand. With an ever growing industry for functional yet fashionable fitness clothing, the choice has increased but what do you look out for in great gym wear? What we’re really looking for is how durable, flexible and withstanding they are going to be (as no-one wants to keep pulling their running leggings up mid 10km).
As a curvier lady myself, I’m always on the lookout for gym clothing that doesn’t make me feel self conscious. There are quite a few options out there and I recently interviewed the lovely Sara Da Silva on her own style of gym clothing which is fashionable, functional and perfect for all ladies. So with this in mind, I reviewed some awesome fitness leggings that have some special qualities on top of being stylish.
First up I tried out the fashionable forest print capri from Proskins. This brand is a favourite of mine, having purchased a few other staple items for my fitness wardrobe. These are the best of fashion and function with a statement SS16 print giving you a blast of colour recreated from summer’s key trends. The other important factor to the functional side of the Proskins Capri’s are what special ingredients are fused into the fibres (yes I did say ingredients). The Proskins Slim range combine encapsulated ingredients with high tech compression fabric which improves skin condition leaving you skin feeling smoother and firmer. So not only can you work out in style, this range gives you a helping hand to boost your overall results.
Up next are the leggings from the Slim range at TLC Sport. These could easily be worn as gym wear or everyday leggings due to the flattering and versatile style. Not a name I’d heard before in the fitness clothing market yet I’m so glad I was introduced to them, as they made me feel great. They are made from exclusive figure firmer fabric and can make you look up to one size smaller. They certainly pulled in my problem areas and looked fab with my TU Clothing gym top.
Take a look at these two brands in action (my dog Maddie couldn’t resist helping me take some shots trying out my new fitness gear!)
