Like most people, there’s nothing I love more than sinking into my bed at night and enjoying a blissful nights sleep (well that’s if you’ve been able to in this heat!). In recent months getting those forty winks has not been a great experience for me, as I’ve been suffering from back and neck pain. This is probably down to my terrible posture and the fact I write for a living but having some much-needed support has been on top of my priority list for a while now.
Alongside appointments with an osteopath, getting a new mattress was the next on my list. My old one is about eight years old and I’d read somewhere that it really should be changed around this time. It’s not complicated to get it set up and taking the plastic off shows you just how much they squeeze into this package. It sprung into action within seconds and didn’t take long at all to puff up and get to full size. Although most people don’t really think about the style of a mattress, Leesa has produced a fabulous looking product which actually works well with my interior themes (although most the time you won’t see it). You can use it quite soon after it has been laid out but I waited about 14 hours before hopping in to try it out.
The design of this mattress is crafted to fit any body shape and size, and it is engineered with three distinct layers. At the base, its Dense Core Support offers strength and durability to make the mattress firm (but not too firm), next up is the Pressure Relieving Memory Foam which contours to your body and provides pressure relief. Lastly, the top layer has a Cooling Avena® Foam that provides the perfect amount of airflow for a cooler night’s sleep, and this was ideal for my hubby who always complains about being hot every night.
My sleep experience
I’m pretty fussy when it comes to mattresses, and I do like them quite firm, and this was perfect. I also hate tons of pillows and sometimes one is too much, but with the Leesa mattress, I have been able to sleep without a pillow without feeling like I’m laying on a plank. The surface gently moulds to your body but not so much that you totally sink in, and more to the point I haven’t woken up with a stiff neck! Win-win!
