How To Find The Perfect Gifts For Everyone This Christmas

Finding the perfect gift for a loved one can be really difficult sometimes. Grandparents naturally say there isn’t anything they want, and gifts for women, men and children can be a minefield with the number of products on the market today. Throw that in with the fact that on average a UK household spends around £500 on gifts for friends and family during the Christmas season and as much as £700 million worth of those Christmas gifts are unwanted (and sent to landfill) each year – making the whole gift buying/giving season somewhat stressful, yes?

Well, no, it doesn’t need to be, not with new intelligent gift-matching marketplace needi and their top tips on how to find the perfect gift for grandparents, her, him and the kids:

For Grandparents

Ongoing gifts

Grandparents are sometimes tricky to buy for, so how about a present that lasts days, weeks or even a full year? There are so many subscription-based gifts on offer now that it can be really easy to find a gift that’s aligned with their favourite things. Look out for food, alcohol, magazine, beauty box, gadget and even flower subscriptions, as well as more quirky ones too such as independent companies that send a new gift to your loved one not once, but every day of the week. This can include jewellery, coffee, socks and sweets. Or, if you want to buy grandparents a joint gift, look out for local businesses that offer the grandparents an activity to do together for every month of the year!

For Her

Experiences

Firstly, think about the lady you’re buying for. How do you want her to feel when she opens her gift from you? Excited? Loved? Entertained? If there’s something that tops a physical gift, it’s the gift of time together. There are so many experience days now, there is quite frankly something for everyone. Wine tasting, car racing, paddle boarding, art classes, cheese tours – the list goes on! Does the lady in your life prefer to stay in? You can also do experience days from the comfort of your own home, like paper flower making, online gin tasting and even donut baking. Oh, and the best thing about experience gifts? It can sometimes be a gift for you too!

For Him

Handmade

Forget random items hot glued inside a frame. Handmade gifts have moved on. Look for retailers that will work with you to design a gift made especially for the man in your life based on their personality and style. Think reclaimed wooden signs, bespoke etched glassware and custom posters, all created bespoke to order. Or, you could commission a piece of art! Not only is a painting a really thoughtful one-of-a-kind gift, but big presents are also really exciting to open, especially when they have been made just for him.

For the kids

Personalise

You cannot beat personalised and fun activities for the kids, think maps of the area they live in to do a treasure hunt or designing their own canvas trainers. For babies and toddlers, personalised clothing, soft toys or books can be very sentimental. A top tip for books is to write a nice message on the front page which they can then keep forever.
