Get Ready For The Party Season With My Top Dress Picks

The festive season is nearly upon us, so there’s no better time to start thinking about your party outfits. If like me, you’re ready to add something sparkly to your wardrobe then there is tons of choice out there to inspire your new buys.

So what type of party are you going to this year?

This is one of the best starting points when deciding what to buy. Is it a casual affair or a smart black-tie event? Or do you just want an excuse to wear a pretty frock even if you’re just hanging out with friends (why not, I say!).

To make your selection a little easier, I’ve chosen some of my favourite Christmas party outfit styles to give you some inspiration. Check out my top picks below:

Classic black dress with a hint of sass

You can’t go wrong with a black dress for the party season. However, you don’t have to stick with traditional styles to turn heads this year. Why not opt for dresses that have subtle detailing around the waist or neckline. I particularly love one-shoulder styles too, and this example below is the perfect balance of sophistication and sass.

Shine bright like a diamond

What’s the party season without some sparkle and if like me you want to go all out this year, add some sequin detail for good measure. Sheer fabrics and neutral colours are another big hit this year, and pair perfectly with glam party looks. More is more when it comes to this type of dress, and whether you’re hitting the town with the girls or twirling the night away at the office Christmas party, you’ll certainly feel the belle of the ball in this season’s styles.

Bring the party

For anyone that wants to liven up the party, why not opt for a colourful dress for this year’s shindig. Red is an ideal option due to the fact it’s Santa’s colour of choice (naturally!). Plus, it makes your outfit stand out amongst the sea of little black dresses that will be sure to hit the party scene. Take a look at my top pick which provides a spectacularly eye-catching colour but also gorgeous details including front bows and frills for days.
