Review | Point A Hotels Kensington

Words by: Natasha Henson

Unless you’ve had a digital detox, you will have probably seen all the action from the recent fashion events in London. As a partner of Fashions Finest during London Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of catching the shows in the capital. During my visit, I also enjoyed a stay at the new Point A Hotel in Kensington, which is just a short walk to the Olympia exhibition centre.

After a busy day and a 5am start, I headed from the shows straight to the hotel. The hotel itself is not too far from Earl’s Court tube station (approx 8-minute walk) and is easy to find without too much help from Google maps.

Upon arrival, check-in was swift, and the hotel staff polite, and I was given a card to my room.

My Point A hotel room

You access your room much like a contactless system, and all the room controls have touchscreen style buttons which control everything from the air conditioning to the lighting. You can also select mood lighting settings according to your preferences. The room was ample size for what you need for a few nights stay. It’s not huge, but as an affordable city location, you shouldn’t expect a grand suite.

My room was clean and bright, and the TV had tons of options for films or your favourite programmes. Most importantly there’s free WiFi too, so I could catch up on emails and upload snaps of the day.

I had a great night’s sleep and a double all to myself. Plus, my room was at the back of the hotel and was really quiet.

Bathrooms are always an important part of my stay as I’m a bit fussy with cleanliness (I mean who isn’t!). However, my ensuite was spotlessly clean, and the shower had high pressure which was a bonus.

I couldn’t resist a selfie in the fantastic bathroom mirror. The light was fab!

The lounge and lobby area

As I just stayed for the night, I didn’t get to see much of the lobby and lounge area. However, the interior was lovely, and there was plenty of seating to enjoy your breakfast.

All in all, the Point A Hotel in Kensington was a great place to base yourself if you’re looking for an affordable stay in London. Point A Hotels have several locations across the capital including Shoreditch, Canary Wharf, Paddington and Kings Cross plus several others. Rooms are from £44/night (depending on location and subject to change).
