Review | Get Set For Summer With Prescription Sunglasses from Online Opticians UK

Words by: Natasha Henson

If you’ve ever checked out my Insta page @tashaahenson, you’ll know that I wear prescription glasses. Not only that, but I also love trying different styles and designs that mix and match with my outfit choices. As a kid, I was supposed to wear glasses all the time, but alas due to teenage vanity, these soon started collecting dusk in my bedroom drawer. I hasten to add, of course, this made my eyesight and the headaches much worse over time!!

Fast-forward a good few years, and glasses became a part of my unique style. People always comment on the specs I wear and love the variation in designs. You could say my love for them has grown into a little obsession. I’m always scouting for affordable and stylish pairs, and as a bit of a culprit of leaving them in silly places, I learnt very quickly that you can never have too many (well, within reason!).

Shopping online for prescription glasses

As everything is online these days, so too is the ability to get good quality prescription glasses. I have purchased glasses online for a few years now, and although I was dubious at first, I’ve never been disappointed with the final product. There are tons of options out there, but I often find that instore styles are often limited and whenever I do find something I like, it’s in the expensive range.

This was when I started looking online.

Some people get put off by buying online, as they believe that the prescription will come back wrong or the glasses won’t fit. But if you measure and send over your details correctly, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Online Opticians UK

Recently, I was introduced to the online prescription glasses company Online Opticians UK who manufacture glasses, sunglasses and lenses in-house. I chose a pair of sunglasses to try out and went for a slightly different style than my usual choice to mix it up a little.

The ordering process is straightforward, and there are clear steps to take to make sure you get all your details inputted and correct before placing your order. Once you’ve chosen the style you like, it’s just a case of selecting the colour (if there are several options), and then selecting the lens type. You’ll find a selection of options, including single tinted lenses and varifocal options. Plus reading or distance specifications. You can also decide on different colour tints, the thickness of the glasses (which is perfect for stronger prescriptions) and you can add accessories such as sunglass cords too.

Once you’ve selected your preferences, then you just need to input your prescription. If you’re not sure on the details, you can also contact the team who be happy to help throughout the process. The beauty of Online Opticians UK too is that if for any reason, you’re not satisfied with your glasses, you can send them back for a refund or lens change within 30 days of receiving them (no quibbles guaranteed!).

As you can see from my pictures, I was super happy with my sunnies, and not only was the prescription spot on, they arrived really quickly too. Along with your glasses delivery, you also get a handy carry case, lens cleaning spray, cleaning cloth and a small screwdriver in case you need to tighten the tiny screws.

I’m a big fan of online prescription glasses and sunglasses, so this was a great addition to my ever-growing collection. If you’re thinking about buying glasses online, check out the variety of designs available and you’re sure to find something to suit your personal style and budget!

I was kindly sent sunglasses to review from Online Opticians UK and chose the Duck and Cover sunglasses with grey coloured lenses. All opinions expressed are my own.
