Fashions Finest AW19

In less than a week Fashions Finest will be hosting their bi-annual runway show during London Fashion Week and their annual Britain’s Top Designer Award like every February at their new venue Congress Hall, 28 Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS as the new home for their event on the 16th of February 2019. The platform will welcome a selection of designers from France, India, Norway, Croatia, Denmark, Wales, Turkey and the UK. We are introducing some of the designers to watch.

Kepaza is a luxury designer brand established in Baerum, Norway by award-winning designer Pernille Fristad. Kepaza creates playful, feminine, edgy and strong clothes for women. Pernille Fristad was awarded the “Golden Needle” when graduating from Esmod Fashion School in Oslo in 2014. Kepaza is also competing for the Britain’s Top Designer Award 2019.

Tokyo-born currently Paris-based designer Misora Nakamori studied fashion at the ROYAL academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp received attention when fashion-icon Lady Gaga appeared wearing Misora’s collection. She gained a master degree in womenswear at RCA in 2018. The brand is also in the running for Britain’s Top Designer Award 2019.

Another Britain’s Top Designer hopeful showcasing is Mary Dickow. The emerging womenswear designer was born and raised in Kenya and currently lives in Denmark. In 2015, she joined Copenhagen Academy of fashion where she graduated with a diploma of fashion and design. The Mary Dickow Fashion Company was started in September 2017.

Returning to Fashions Finest runway is Olya Sookie. The designer was born in Makarska, Croatia and she studied industrial design Fine Arts High School in Split. She won second prize at National exhibition of graduate projects in design: IDIVA 2009. Olya exhibited her work at the International fair of innovation, new ideas, products and technologies – ARCA 2009. The designer graduated in product design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

Olya Sookie was included in the lookbook of Croatian designers (2017) by fashion portal moda.hr. She showcased at fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, Maldives – and Dubai. Additionally, Olya Sookie, received a personal invitation to be a part of the prestigious international design competition, “A Design Awards” and an offer from British Vogue to write a piece about her work and brand Nephilim. In September 2017 Olya’s fashion brand Nephilim was a part of Fall Fashion Show In Zagreb.

Kanna Yeung is from Hong Kong and she’s a Womenswear and Accessories designer, who graduated from a bachelor’s degree program of Fashion Design at Coventry University.

Linda Blissett is another regular on the Fashions Finest catwalk. The London-based textile/fashion designer, specialises in niche items constructed from fabrics, which she designs and hand weaves herself. She studied at Middlesex & Portsmouth Universities, graduating with a BA honours in Constructed Textiles and H.N.D Textiles for Fashion. In August 2013, she founded Bliss Studio TextilesIn May 2014 Linda was shortlisted among the finalists for the John Singer Sargent Open art prize.

Louisa Moody is a luxury womenswear brand inspired by issues surrounding equality and double standards between genders. They use fashion as activism, aiming to break beliefs on the ideal woman put in place by society. Their designs focus on sex appeal whilst celebrating women and their bodies. Louisa also has her eye on this years Britain’s Top Designer Award.
