As I eagerly awaited the Ashley Isham show, I knew this collection was going to be a showstopper. This time I recognised faces in the crowd, some people I’d seen on the telly and others whose blogs I’ve read. There was a great mixture and tons of people packed into the hall so I squeezed myself into the back row to try and get some snaps and hoping the camera was going to play ball!
Ashley Isham AW16 Collection
This designer is already well known for signature styles such as razor cut tailoring and sublime draping details so I was eager to see what was in store for autumn/winter 16.
This collection intrigued me due to the variety of texture and colour used. There was an element of simple artistic styling in many pieces equally contrasted by an array of out of this world design aspects. Ashley Isham’s inspiration for the collection was formed through the artist Igor Skaletsky, a young Russian artist who created thought provoking pieces with classic paintings and textural collage. Isham combined this inspiration with a sense of deep romanticism and has created clothing women will adore.
Another use of autumnal and ethereal shades in this collection saw hues of magenta, teal, olive and black yet the use of metallic added glamour and impressive depth for ultimate eveningwear or red carpet sophistication.
As I’ve said before, the music arrangement always perfectly emphasises the strength and power of a collection and Ashley Isham’s choice complimented superbly. There were nice touches including a tribute to David Bowie showcasing the beauty and originality of this collection.
Again I’ve included a few of my images (I’ve tried to choose the best ones).
Take a look at the gorgeous Ashley Isham AW16 Ready to Wear collection.
