Canary Wharf Summer Screens 2025: Free Outdoor Movies, Sports & Games in London
Canary Wharf’s Summer Screens return for 2025, transforming Canada Square Park into a vibrant hub of free outdoor entertainment from 29th May to 27th September. This year’s lineup is the most extensive yet, featuring blockbuster films, live sports, interactive gaming, and wellness activities—all set against the backdrop of London’s iconic skyline.
Film Club: Movies under the stars
The beloved Film Club is back, showcasing a diverse selection of films every Tuesday and Saturday. Highlights include recent releases like Wicked and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, alongside classics such as Top Gun: Maverick, Mean Girls, and Dirty Dancing. Family-friendly screenings, including Moana 2, Finding Nemo, and Matilda the Musical, are scheduled for Saturday mornings. A special screening of The Hunger Games on 24th June will precede its stage adaptation debuting at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre this autumn.
Gaming on the big screen
Experience gaming like never before with free Nintendo Switch 2 sessions on the big screen. The Mario Kart Championship will feature four heats throughout the summer, offering participants a chance to win exclusive prizes from Pitch, Canary Wharf’s new virtual golf club and riverside bar. Weekend sessions will also include the latest Mario Kart World game and Just Dance activities for all ages.
Summer of sport
Sports enthusiasts can catch live broadcasts of major events, including Wimbledon, Formula 1, Royal Ascot, and cricket matches. A highlight of the season is the Women’s Rugby World Cup, starting with England vs. USA on 22nd August and concluding on 27th September. With over 80 nearby cafes, bars, and restaurants, fans can enjoy refreshments while watching the games.
Wellness and activities
Lululemon will host four morning yoga sessions from 26th June to 17th July, each starting at 8:00am, to energise attendees for the day ahead. Additionally, visitors can explore a range of free activities across Canary Wharf, including a 9-hole mini-golf course by Craig & Karl, colourful ping pong tables, the ‘Raise Your Art Rate’ art trail, and 16.5 acres of open space perfect for wandering, relaxing, and soaking up the sun.
Dining and refreshments
Whether you’re settling in for a movie or stopping by for a game, there are plenty of delicious picnic options around. Ready-made lunches are available from Waitrose, Shake Shack, or Wahaca’s Burrito Van, while pizza fans will be happy with the options from Franco Manca or @homepizza. For those seeking a somewhat elevated picnic experience, Sticks’n’Sushi and newly opened Din Tai Fung both provide takeaway options. Badiani, Joe Blake’s, and Blank Street Coffee offer artisan gelato, expertly crafted coffee, and sweet treats. If a sit-down meal over a movie is on the cards, The Ivy’s terrace offers prime views of the screens, while The Oasis Terrace and The Parlour provide stylish outdoor settings to enjoy the longer evenings.
